Two new award categories in 2019

The Australian Technologies Competition continues to grow in size and scale, this year introducing two new award categories: Circular Economy and Global Social Impact. What are these exactly?

Circular Economy and Global Social Impact join this year's line up of Award categories.

Social impact can be defined as the net effect of an activity on a community and the well-being of individuals and families.  The Global Social Impact Award is applicable to those companies that have developed a technology that helps to improve the well-being and livelihood of individuals.

A circular economy, on the other hand, refers to an economic system aimed at minimising waste and making the most of resources.  This regenerative approach is in contrast to the traditional linear economy, which has a 'take, make, dispose' model of production.

In a circular system, resource input and waste, emissions and energy leakage are minimised through long-lasting design, maintenance, repair, reuse, remanufacturing, refurbishing and recycling.

Do either of these categories seem like the right fit for your technology? If so, enter online.
