Companies can enter up to two categories across a total of 17 award categories. Each finalist will be in the running to win the overall 'Australian Technology Company of the Year' Award.

This category celebrates cutting-edge technologies that improve or transform the manufacturing process. These advancements create smarter and more competitive and production methods.
AI Tech
This category aims to showcase the development of artificial intelligence technologies that are driving new efficiencies and capabilities across industries. It highlights responsible and scalable platforms, tools or applications shaping Australia’s digital future.


Alumni Achievement Award
This award acknowledges the significant contributions and achievements of individuals who have previously participated in the Australian Technologies Competition or a related program. This award celebrates the continued success and influence of past entrants as they continue to innovate, grow, and lead within their industries.
Circular Economy
This category highlights technologies that promote the sustainable use and reuse of resources through reducing waste and creating closed-loop systems. Entries should demonstrate how their innovations contribute to the reduction of environmental impact, support sustainable production practices, and facilitate the transition to a more circular, regenerative economy.


Clean Energy
This category recognises innovations in clean energy technologies that promote sustainable energy production, reduce carbon emissions, and contribute to the transition to a low-carbon future. Entries should demonstrate how new energy solutions, such as solar, wind, or other renewables, are helping to meet the world’s energy needs while mitigating climate change.
Cybersecurity
This category focuses on innovative technologies that safeguard individuals, organisations, and governments from cyber threats. It focuses on solutions that protect critical infrastructure, sensitive data, and online environments from hacking, data breaches, and other digital security risks, ensuring the safety and privacy of users globally.


DeepTech
This category celebrates breakthrough science and engineering innovations that have the potential to radically transform industries and society. It includes emerging technologies like AI, quantum computing, advanced materials, robotics, and biotech. Entries should show how these tech innovations can solve big challenges and make a lasting impact in areas such as healthcare, energy, and manufacturing, helping position Australia as a global leader.
Disaster & Emergency Management
This category recognises technological solutions that improve disaster response, preparedness, and management. Whether it’s through early warning systems, data-driven disaster response tools, or innovative recovery solutions, entries should demonstrate how its technology helps save lives and mitigate the impact of natural or man-made disasters.


Edtech
This category recognises technological innovations transforming education and learning outcomes across Australia. Entries in this sector should showcase solutions that enhance access, engagement, and effectiveness for learners and educators, while highlighting the role of technology in equipping communities with future-ready skills and supporting lifelong learning.
Fintech & Regtech
This category focuses on innovations in financial technology (fintech) and regulatory technology (regtech) that revolutionise how financial services are delivered and regulated. Entries should demonstrate how their technology can improve access to financial services, streamline compliance, and create secure, efficient, and transparent financial ecosystems.


Global Social Impact
This category acknowledges innovative technologies or solutions that address global social challenges, creating meaningful, positive change on a worldwide scale. Entries in this category should demonstrate how their technology can drive progress in areas such as poverty reduction, healthcare access, education, equality, or environmental sustainability, with measurable impact on diverse communities globally.
Growth Equity
This category aims to showcase businesses with strong momentum, such as rising revenue, investment, product development, acquisitions, or expansion into new markets. This can include businesses raising later-stage capital to expand their market reach, grow revenue, and strengthen their position in the industry.


MedTech & Pharma
This category focuses on innovations in medical technology and pharmaceuticals that have the potential to improve healthcare outcomes. From breakthrough medical devices to pioneering pharmaceutical treatments, entries should highlight advancements that improve patient care, streamline healthcare systems, and address pressing medical challenges.
Proptech
This category celebrates technology improving the property and built environment sector. It highlights innovations that make it easier to plan, build, buy, sell, rent, or manage property, while improving efficiency, sustainability, transparency, or access.


Sustainable Cities & Communities
This category recognises technological innovations that help create more sustainable, resilient, and liveable cities and communities. Entries should focus on solutions that improve urban infrastructure, reduce environmental impact, enhance quality of life, and drive sustainability through smart urban planning, green building technologies, and innovative mobility solutions.
Sustainable Mining & Resources
This category highlights mining and resource extraction innovations that prioritise sustainability and environmental responsibility. Entries should showcase technologies that reduce environmental impact, improve resource efficiency, and promote the mining industry's sustainable use of natural resources.


Water, Food & Agribusiness
This category celebrates modern advancements that address challenges in food production, water management, and agriculture. It includes solutions that improve food security, optimise agricultural practices, and ensure sustainable water use in ways that enhance productivity and address environmental and societal needs.
